Attic Insulation Installation Renton

DIY efforts could lead to foam layer complications, mold growth, or even personal injury and attic damage. Opt for Guardian Home for expert attic insulation.

Renton Spray Foam Insulation

Polyurethane foam insulation results from combining isocyanates (A-side) and polyol resins (B-side) in a chemical reaction. When applied with a foam gun, the material expands and fills gaps and crevices in your attic or crawl space before solidifying. This insulation type is highly effective for sealing attics and crawl spaces.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass insulation typically comes in batts that can be rolled or positioned on various surfaces, such as walls, floors, or ceilings. Blown fiberglass has gained popularity and constitutes a significant part of our insulation projects. This insulation type is created by mixing recycled glass with natural sand.

Cellulose

Cellulose insulation consists of recycled paper, primarily newsprint, with a high recycled content of about 82-85%. During production, the paper is broken down into small fragments, transformed into fibers, and combined with flame and insect retardants. Mineral borate or ammonium sulfate are the most commonly used retardants. Blown-in pellets are the main form of cellulose insulation, but it can also be made in batts.

Cotton

Cotton insulation is becoming increasingly popular among environmentally-conscious consumers. It is manufactured by reusing recycled blue jeans and other natural cotton fibers from industrial waste. Cotton insulation typically contains 85% recycled cotton and 15% plastic fibers, treated with boric acid for flame resistance. This insulation is non-toxic, and its installation doesn’t necessitate respiratory or skin protection. Unlike fiberglass insulation, cotton insulation does not cause skin irritation or burning upon contact.

Benefits of Clean Insulation

Reduced energy consumption

Clean attic insulation can contribute to lower energy consumption as it controls temperature more effectively than old insulation. Your heating and cooling systems won’t need to work as hard or operate as frequently, leading to lower energy bills.

Moisture control

Clean insulation helps prevent moisture accumulation in the attic. Excessive moisture can cause mold and mildew growth, potentially damaging the home’s structure and negatively impacting air quality.

Enhanced indoor air quality

Clean insulation can improve indoor air quality by reducing the number of allergens, pollutants, and mold spores entering your living spaces.
